Industrial Routing Requirements in Low-Power and Lossy Networks

چکیده
The wide deployment of lower-cost wireless devices will significantly improve the productivity and safety of industrial plants while increasing the efficiency of plant workers by extending the information set available about the plant operations. The aim of this document is to analyze the functional requirements for a routing protocol used in industrial Low-power and Lossy Networks (LLNs) of field devices. Improving the Performance of RPL Routing Protocol for Internet of Things
The emerging Internet of Things (IoT) connects the physical world to the digital one and composes large networks of smart devices to support various applications. In order to provide a suitable communication in such networks, a reliable routing protocol is needed. In this paper, a modified version of an IPv6 Routing Protocol for Low-Power and Lossy networks (RPL), which has been standardized by...
متن کاملA survey on RPL attacks and their countermeasures
RPL (Routing Protocol for Low Power and Lossy Networks) has been designed for low power networks with high packet loss. Generally, devices with low processing power and limited memory are used in this type of network. IoT (Internet of Things) is a typical example of low power lossy networks. In this technology, objects are interconnected through a network consisted of low-power circuits. Exampl...
متن کاملBuilding Automation Routing Requirements in Low-Power and Lossy Networks
The Routing Over Low-Power and Lossy (ROLL) networks Working Group has been chartered to work on routing solutions for Low-Power and Lossy Networks (LLNs) in various markets: industrial, commercial (building), home, and urban networks. Pursuant to this effort, this document defines the IPv6 routing requirements for building automation. (IETF). It represents the consensus of the IETF community. ...
متن کاملA Comparative Study of the Routing Protocols LOAD and RPL in Low-power and Lossy Networks (LLN)
Routing protocols for sensor networks are often designed with explicit assumptions, serving to simplify design and reduce the necessary energy, processing and communications requirements. IPv6 Routing Protocol for Low Power and Lossy Networks (RPL) is a routing protocol specifically designed for Low power and Lossy Networks (LLN) compliant with the 6LoWPAN protocol. It currently shows up as an ...
متن کاملComposite Metrics for Routing in Low Power and Lossy Networks
IETF ROLL (Routing Over Low power and Lossy networks) Group proposes the RPL (IPv6 Routing Protocol for LLNs) for routing in low power and lossy networks. Though RPL is able to work on several routing metrics, the details of using these metrics are not completely specified in the standard. To meet different QoS requirements of the applications, adopting proper routing metrics is essential. In t...
